Geist Manufacturing was founded in Lincoln, Neb., in 1948 under the name Winders and Geist.
We began by developing cord covers (Now called Flexiduct) and electrical conduits during the late 1940s and 1950s and branched out into other electrical products during the next few decades.
At the request of farm equipment manufacturers, we began to produce a variety of plastic irrigation products in the 1980s and moved into center pivot irrigation accessories in the mid-1990s.
By the late 1990s, we had developed a range of industrial power strips for use in data center cabinets. With the development of the U.S. technology industry – particularly Internet related and corporate data centers – our power and monitoring products grew to hundreds of base units with thousands of configuration options.
PCE, Inc., a privately held corporation, acquired us in 1997 and immediately invested the necessary resources to take the company to its next stage of development for both its plastic extrusion processes and data center products.
By 2004, it became apparent that our company was rapidly developing in two related but separate directions, and we decided to split into two autonomous units. Geist Plastics is focused on custom plastic profile extrusions and Geist Manufacturing is focused on Data-Center power and monitoring equipment, which has since been sold and is no longer a part of the PCE, Inc. group of companies.
In 2007, Geist Plastics vacated the Geist Manufacturing building and moved into a custom designed, 24,000-square-foot plastic extrusion facility. We are now located in Lincoln’s Airpark with easy access to a variety of shipping partners.
Today, we have a sister division, our injection molding company, HTI Plastics.
